Many thanks, l have had a look at the other post , luckily all the threads are in good condition all nuts came off ok except for one which I had to drill and punch round. I was surprised by how soft the metal was. I will take a look at the nylon inserts to see if they have melted. They should have got pretty hot due to the calipers binding, this is the reason for removing the shafts, to replace discs and calipers.
Cheers
Martin.

I think the drive shaft nuts are a special locking nut...not nyloc. Due to the heat from the inboard brakes these would be destroyed in a short time.
Have a look here https://www.scparts.co.uk/sc_en/british-cars/jagua...
Here is the description of the nut from the website...
self locking x 7/16" UNF
"Stover style" lock nuts are one-piece hex nuts which derive their prevailing torque characteristics from controlled distortion of their top threads from their normal helical form to a more elliptical shape.
Frequently used in the automotive and metalworking industries, they can withstand severe vibration and shock loads. They are reusable and can withstand temperatures of up to 232 °C.
All metal locking nuts are grade C zinc cr3.

This style is also acceptable, https://www.sngbarratt.com/English/#/UK/parts/aaa1...
Nyloc nuts ARE NOT acceptable for use in this location as the heat from the rear brakes will melt the nylon and can cause them to loosen.
