New owner needs advice

Just bought a 280i and was wondering what the best set up should be for moderate street driving, what resources are out there for performance additions and ideas for customization. I am in the US, so I know that parts will mostly need to come from across the pond.

You could always turn it into a bath tub.

The 2.8 engine is not the best for tuning (as oft repeated on here), but just making sure everything is in top condition enginewise, will at least mean it's reaching its full potential. Turbocharging was an option with these motors.

I believe the American spec' ones were a bit wimpy anyway, compared with ours, due to all the extra emissions stuff.
( 145 instead of 160bhp ?)

Welcome Russ. Don't let Graham upset you, he's old and (I think?) harmless. Everything we do to a TVR here in the States is customizing. There are so few cars and parts. This site is your best place to find anything. Check-out ALL the catagoriies and tabs. There are lists of interchangeable parts and part numbers, and you can search past topics for information on most any problem (believe me,someone else has had the same problem BEFORE you). Joint at least the North American TVR Club. Good adds and informations too. There is at least one active contributor to this site that lives in Houston.
