Brake Pulling

Chaps,
I have just changed discs and pads on my 350 s2 and have still got an ongoing problem.The cars pulls quite badly to the left under braking.Is this a lazy caliper or could it be a suspension problem?Also dependedent on the surface i get a steering movement from side to side almost like warped discs,but this cant be the case as i have just renewed them!
Also, reversing on full left lock the other night and the tyre seemed to catch the spoiler.......
Any thoughts would be gratefully received as the brakes are dire!!

You could take it to an MOT test centre would will be able to confirm it .. but I would guess the brakes.

Normal way to fix is :

1) recondition both calipers (if they are real bad)
cost is around £50 each - see Mikes Wedge pages for contact details..

2) remove pads, clean inside of caliper with break cleaner, pump pedal (softly) to move pistons in and out .. you have to take care here not to pop then out completely .. finally - I put a thin smear of copper easy on the inside of the caliper surfaces..and plenty of the back of the pad. If this does not fix problem then
you need option 1) !

Just a quick thought - are all your suspension bolts done up tightly? Could it be a bent suspension pivot bolt, or a lose balljoint moving around? I had an Astra a few years back that pulled badly to one side under breaking - within a hundred miles the whole wishbone had detached itself and I ended up in a ditch...

Do some checking just in case if I was you! Hopefully it will just be a sticky caliper, or perhaps the rubber brake hose has collapsed on the inside causing a blockage?

Also check the rear end bushes and the mounting for all of the shock absorbers.

It sounds like you are braking from the rear of the car, in which case you may get into a spin quite soon, until the front discs bed in. Try driving in reverse and see if the car still pulls under braking.

My guess would be that one side of caliper is siezed. Try operating the brakes with the pads out and see how the pistons move. Don't go too far and pop the piston out though.
