I've sold my car! - yeahh, now I can buy a wedge :D,

I have been getting a few insurance quotes, I had a quite attractive one from Footman James, but they require a Thatcham cat2 immobiliser fitted I am going to look at two - neither of them have, obviously I would want one fitted for my own peace of mind aswell.

Anyone advise me anyone in the midlands that will do a mobile visit Thatcham immobiliser fitment? & provide the certificate etc, also what are the best models to fit to the wedge & what sort of prices?

Anyone else with Footman James?? - do all their policy's reqire a Thatcham 2 Immob?, also do their classic policies allow you to drive other cars third party?

Also throw some more recomended insurance companies my way!

Cheers in advance

Jamie

I'm with FJ' didn't want anything specific with me. But it does have an immob fitted. Recent thread: www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=188277&f=12&h=0

When I was looking for insurance, it seemed not all cat 2 immobiliers were listed with all insurance companies. If you find a car with one fitted, make sure the immobiliser make and model is listed with the insurance company, when they quote.

I'm with Tesco insurance, they require a Thatcham cat 2 imobilizer, which fortunately I already had fitted. I did not have a certificate though but got one from a local alarm installer who inspected and tested the imobilizer (in Bedford) for a cost of £35. I am thinking of selling my 350i soon If you want to know more about it drop me an email. It will be on PH soon.

Toad dealer locator

www.toade.com/

I had one installed in Cov. Nice little note to say it was done as per instructions etc and duly sent off to the insurance company and they were happy. Lost the fopping slip so I had to pay to get it assessed for a new insurance so copy it and send the copy in.

Suprisingly not all , mine didn't as long as it is garaged - Heritage , and very reasonable too , but it depends on many factors as to what quote you get so there is no perfect ins. company which does good quotes for everyone !
