It's been reported in two of the FB Wedge forums the sad news that the designer of our Wedges Oliver Winterbottom has passed away. I've met him several times at recent Wedge Fests and he was a truly talented and fascinating guy. My thoughts and best wishes go out to his family.

Hi Keith, I was just checking to see if anyone had posted the sad news on here. Glad you did.

Genuinely a bloody nice bloke and a honour to chat with him at BBWF in 2017. Sad loss, but what a legacy! Thoughts with his family. RIP Mr Wedge (Lotus and TVR).

That is indeed sad news. I am glad I met him a few times and got to know something of the engineer behind the Wedge.

I had the great pleasure of working directly under Oliver for 3 years at Lotus.
He was a larger than life old school character and a true gentleman.

Finished reading his book about a month ago, he had a very interesting and eventful life.

He really lived an interesting life and was a great guy to talk to.

Oliver was a wonderful guy, larger than life.

Not good news, had several chats with him over the years, be that at the bar BBWF, and Rockingham etc, A bril man with many a storry to tell.

Always said thats loud, but so was he in many ways with what he did to Car design

Oliver Winterbottoms funeral today in Wymondham Abbey. They gave him a good send off with an impressive turnout of Lotus cars.
