...a Lucas nearside indicator/running light lens, RTC1795 in the picture below. I dont need the amber filter cos im using an amber bulb, but i need it for this weekend and will pay copious amounts of beer tokens when i see you at BBWF

It's for the early Tasmins, the later ones (eg 350i)are Cibie, and are smaller.

Rimmer Brothers, the only place i can find with one, want £24.43 inc. VAT or £61.69 inc. VAT for the complete light fitting :YIKES:

If i cant get one I'm going to be fitting a pair of round 3" fittings in the hole to get it through the MoT and move the running light to the main light units (my headlights are permanently popped up). it will look hideous but will get me to the ball on time.

Iain

Dosn`t look like the correct one to me. That looks as if it`s off a TR7. The one you need is off of the Dolomite style cars.

You sure? everything else looks the same, wiring matches, 2 power, one earth onthe shell! Rimmers dont have a picture of the Dolly unit to compare.

I'll take the base unit along to check.

Check the depth of the actual lens. I think the TR7 is only about 3/8" where as the Wedge is over an inch.

hmmm that could be a bit of a show stopper, just been and measured the O/S lens, its about 20mm from front face to where the flange starts. POOH.

I'll take the casing with me, if its the right width and height I'll do something about the depth, it will look a darn sight better than a pair of Moggy minor lenses.

Thanks for the info.

If it's like my early 350i then reliant indicator/pilot lenses fit.

Weeman sent me some from his 350i because theyre spare after he replaced the whole assemblies, those are the Cibie ones and are too small.

My MoT station is good to me, but not that good...I'd also never have to overtake or turn out at a junction or take a roundabout...I know, i'll put a BMW badge on it.
