Dunno if this has been raised before (not revealed by a search) but Ford no longer stock Cortina parts at all.

I just went over to the Cambridge dealer for some bushes and he said there's no truth in the story that Ford supply spares for up to 20 years.

So I know one company I won't be buying a new car from (for the wife, of course!!!)

Since the Cortina went out in 1982/3, the 20 years would be up anyway...

Mind you it's about 25 years since the Cortina finished production.

I'd need to double check, but I thought the requirement by law was 10 years...

When i was searching for an intake hose just before BBWF my Ford dealer said parts for all 2.8 V6 cars (ie Cortina, Capri, Sierra and Granada) were no longer avalible, to which i made some desparaging comment, so he showed me the screen and sure enough the stock lists on the computer had NLA next to them all.

Oh dear!

Iain

I recently posted this somewhere else, but I have had long augments with young countermen over whether Ford EVER made a 2.8 V-6.

Over here, the Ford parts computer only goes back to the mid 90s. Grady

A few months ago I bought antiroll bar bushes/brackets (1985 Granada) through a local Ford dealer (Reg Vardy, Reading). OK they didn't have them in the parts dept on site, but they ordered them in for me and they arrived within a few days.

Surrey based, but end up driving around Berkshire a fair bit.
