I sprung a leak on the 350 t'other day. I thought a hose had gone - I nearly got pissed in the face by hot radiator stuff. Anyway, got home and decided to try and sort mesel (I'm not generally very mechanically minded but thought it would be a hose needing replacement and I could do this).
After getting the car out of the garage, refilling the header tank and starting, I saw that the leak was actually coming from the plastic T-piece which connects the lower pipe from the header tank to other places.
:yikes: thought I, this is more than I can deal with, so I had a horrowing trip to my mechanic (who is a top geezer salt of the earth type) this morning to take it in.
The Tiv is an '89 and has done 61k and a couple of the hoses are looking their age so I said to my Mech that I wanted to replace all of the hoses and plastic connectors whilst he was replacing the T-piece (I have already replaced the big stuff with an ACT hose kit).
Trouble is - he is finding it difficult to get the connectors. An engineering co. next door said they could fabricate the T-piece but not some of the others.
I have also mentioned the idea in the wedge manual about using copper pieces from a plumbers merchant - has anyone tried this?
So I am asking you, fellow wedgers, to help me try and find replacements for these pieces. Any Ideas?????

www.tvrcarparts.co.uk have listed a few of the plastic connectors I think. They had a couple of the reducer ones on there the other day. They are under the cooling system sub section from the drop down menu. Only a few quid each too...

I found the local plumb supply on the industrial estate better and cheaper

I second the B&Q comment.
IIRC I used a microbore T piece
Wouldn't use the plastic stuff as it goes brittle over time. OK it did take best part of twenty years to fail but I still would go the copper route. Just make sure you use the correct coolant to keep the galvanic corrosion at bay.
