It all my years ownership of TVRs I've never heard about or come across an hard top for the wedge. I think the reason is there is already a semi hard top design in place and to fit a complete hard top you would have to unbolt and remove the rear folding part etc.
Interesting to hear if anyone knows different.

Try overtaking lorries in a torrential downpour (with the hood down, of course) when they are throwing up a bow-wave like the QM2 at full chat ... then you'll know what "water in the car" really is! Is it possible making a Hard Top for a wedge, I want to drive in the winter without water in the car.

Can beat that .. Le Mans 2001 3" of water in footwells with the roof on!!... actually did drill a hole in the floor to drain the water out.
A week in La Rochelle afterwards dried the car out though.

Pat Smith in the TVRCC Chalenge has a glass fibre hard top on his car, including air ducts to cool the rear brakes, its a bit rough and ready but does the job.

Might be worth giving Richard at Moore Racing a shout?
Also there is a company making hard tops for Chimaeras now, do a search of the Chimaera forum in the past 6months, they may be interested in developing a Wedge varient!

I would have thought this is the biggest problem. I am sure it would be possible to make a hard top but I wouldn't want to remove the back section too many times. The piece of trim around the bottom is held on with self tapers into the fiberglass. removing these a few times would soon strip out the thread. I guess it would be possible to graft in some nuts but it would still be quite a job swapping the two over.
I was thinking of making a hard top rear section but only for security purposes - it would fit over the canvas top and prevent 'forced entry from the rear' ;^)
With a few hinges it could live in the boot until needed. However my idea wasn't to improve waterproofing - if leakage is a problem try some water seal on the fabric and make sure the targa rubber seals are working OK.

I came across this post when doing a search and have always wondered what it would be like to have a removable hard top for the winter for the Wedge. I would be very interested in having one. My car doesn't leak but it would be good for the winter and for security. Ideally though, I would want it to go over the existing folded back section for practability. Any thoughts???

The fold back is only held on by 3 screws at the back and one on each side (AFAICR). so would be a lot easier, to change them to a different quick fitting fastener so the hard top would go onto the GRP for a better seal.Tony. TCB.
The 400SE and 350 targa panels are slightly different size so not sure if one could be made to fit both.
but It's something that I sometimes think about.
