Hi everyone, been a while, but has anyone got a spare working ECU I could borrow? I've tried everything to get the car started and nobody tests them anymore. It's only tge second time the wedge has let me down since 2005 when I bought it.
1984 350i flapper.

Have you tried these people? Not used them nor sure of the costs. Might be worth a quick email.
Would be interested in the outcome as I have a second unit that appears to be faulty.
I lost one bank last year. I re-flowed the power transistors it has been OK since.

I believe https://tornadosystems.com/ does them. But as above, I had some bad soldered joints in mine as well ... probably worth checking..

Python Racing - http://www.pythonracing.co.uk/ - does ECU testing for the T cars. Worth an email.

They are not that complicated so surprised. Are HT cables right way around? Static timing right? Dissy actually spinning? Have you checked TDC with no 1 plug out and ensured it is on compression stroke? BIG FAT spark at plugs? Plugs out, and spin it, is there fuel coming out of all pots? You could pull the cold start injector out ofbthe plenum and plug it in as one of the main injectors and stick it in a jam jar. Does it squirt okay? Do all cylinders have compression?

Hi,

Did you get to the bottom of this?
Was it the ECU or another Issue?

Just wondering as I seem to have lost the passenger side bank again, I had this issue about a year ago, so may need to take my own advise and get the ECU checked.
I did reflow the power transistors the last time it did the same, the loss of one bank thingy. My spare ECU although sold to me as working does not allow the car to start.

Cheers Ray

Bit late to this party but I have several spare ECUs if anyone gets stuck, or can take a look at yours if you'd prefer.
Just to reiterate that even supposedly bog-standard 350i ECUs are not identical in the way they deliver, so a perfectly good ECU may not make your particular car run any better than the ECU you're trying to diagnose.
This was proven at one of the early Wedgefests when we ran several ECUs in the same car round the same roads in Warwickshire and every one gave different response.
