After building a new heater box, and redesigning the demist vents, I can say it works! It's a bit noisy on full fan, but when the rain comes, and the windscreen starts to fog up, on goes the demister - it actually clears the screen, ALL of it! I have a few pictures of the new box, but not sure where to host them, if anyone is interested in seeing my octopus (oo-er).

I will be most interested to see this!
You could CC: me on the email or if you can get it hosted soon I'll see it there.
Well done mate. You've done something TVR couldn't do.

Jim, would be very intersted in the mods. Was it one of the early air boxes? I've got to take mine apart as the flapper doesn't work. I have a second one which I've stripped down and to be honest I'm not surprised they don't work very well.

Well, I thought I'd write it up properly, as I need writing experience, I might make a pdf for MIKEB's site.

Essentially, it was the welded PolyPropylene box, but I had to teach myself plastic welding, and made an entirely new box. The down side is that until I get an SE dash I have no fresh air vents. Making the fan centrifuge was not trivial, but I beat Pro/Engineer into submission for the spiral template.

Jim. Ah, I think this is the later box. Mine is made up of two fiberglass halves jointed together. I'm sure there will be lots of people interested though as this is a problem on most cars.

I'd be interested in seeing the pictures - I'm sure most of my demist problems are due to no external air .. it just recirculates the air from the cabin

And half the air hoses are not attached and there is no room (air con) !

Could be the biggest contribtion to Wedge driving this decade. You might even get the 'wet leather' award for vehicle safety.
Come on let's have the details.
