Hi

Any suggestions for cheapo shocks for 350i (front and rear)? Nothing flash needed as only used on bog standard roads. Ease of fitting etc more important.

I've seen AVO, Koni, Spax etc mentioned but don't know how to choose.

RT do something as well, I think they're Redline(?). I've put some on the front of mine, and although I still need to adjust the damping rate a bit, so far I would say that they're an improvement on the AVO's which I took off. Whereas the RT dampers seem to have a fairly linear adjustment, the AVO's would be linear for about 1/3 of their range, and then almost lock solid. TBH, they should all be as easy to fit as each other. The Koni's used to only be adjustable off the car (may have changed now). I would definitely recommend getting adjustable platforms on the rear though, just gives you a bit more flexibility when setting the car up.

Have gaz as well for over a year now, and they are ok for me. Prefer in general adjustable shocks, but some people had problems in achieving a proper setting. Gaz and avo can be ajusted while on the car. Koni can't but seem to be hard to find now (not manufactured anymore).
