My 2.8i drophead bust its cable ( well I grounded on it) so I sent the old one to Speedycables who returned the old and new ones promptly and reasonably. And they looked identical. So far so good. Blood and Sweat had the instrument end fitted and my local (good guy) garage put the car on the ramp and fitted the g/b end. (It's a 4 speed Ford box).
No output drive!! I even removed the cable from the speedo (that is where the Tears came in!)to check if it turned. Is there a drive cog/peg/whatever in the hole that may have dropped out? Any ideas? Fortunately a working speedo does not seem to be in the MOT.so I am driving on the rev counter.
While I'm about it the reversing light switch in the bottom of the 'box has never been fitted in my ownership, does anyone have a part no? Ford or aftermarket.
