SEAC stoneguard

My red one has black stoneguard (slightly ripply)material around the leading rear wheelarch.

Plan is to return this to body colour (as originally)

Do other SEAC's have the stone material then paint or just plain paint ?

Until recently my SEAC had the original stone protection which was thick flexible clear plastic stuck over the paint in that area - old version of armour fend type protection? Over the years it discoloured and started to peel, so I removed it (what a pain) and used black stone chip. Whatever you use that area gets a real battering and the stones will still chip the surounding paintwork.
If anyone else has a better method, good to hear.

There was a stone chip protector underseal which gives an elastic layer and you just spray top coat over the top. Shutz?
Many years ago a freind used it on the sills on his Spit. Seemed to work well.
Dont know any more than that though.

390SEs have it as well... for some reason the rear arches get blasted to bu99ery whilst the front ones remain unscathed.

Oh, and the rear wing gets a bit of grief as well.

Not a SEAC but mine get blasted back to the paint every 2 years or so. Be looking at the grp now if it wasn't for the paint. After a few test sprays on a bit of gash metal, I prefer dinitrol but only seems to be done in a fetching black.

JMO but I think they were mistaken in using black, especially on paler cars, as visually it alters the shape of the arch (appears to cut it away), thereby spoiling the lines of the vehicle.

Much better body-coloured - anything but a dark colour.

Think mine is the stonegaurd - black in colour. Fair comment about using body colour around the wheel arch though.
