Front AVO top mount
Discussion
Can anyone who has fitted AVO's to the front of their Wedge confirm the top mount set up. Just getting aroung to fitting mine now and looking at the top mount there seems to be too many metal cups for the rubbers. The original Koni's were rubber to chassis on top and underneath bit as in the picture the AVO's came with cups on both ends of the rubbers!
Is it just a case of ditching the extra ones or is this something that the AVO's use,I dont think it should be metal to metal contact but any advise most welcome.
Cheers

Don't know how they're nornally fitted on the Wedges, but in general you'd want to keep the cups on both sides of both bushes. They are shaped to contain the bush and stop it distorting under compression, without this support the bush will tend to squish out sideways and eventually tear.

The AVO's which I've recently taken off the front have a similar arrangement, except that the large cup in the middle was absent. They were c. 7yrs. old, so the set-up may have changed. Ask the supplier.
7.
The smaller bush with both cups top and bottom goes above the chassis mounting plate with the bigger bush below.
There is metal to metal contact if you mean chassis to bush cup but so what?
The shock itself is still isolated by the rubbers and once its all clamped up the rubber is pretty solid !

Thanks for the replies,
I am waiting on AVO for a reply, it just dosen't seem correct to me, mainly because the large rubber bush has a lip on it that fits perfect into the chassis mounting hole, this will be squashed flat if the second cup is used, and both the cups on the smaller bush have hexagonals indented in them, obviously the one needs it but the other??
