280i Gearshift Selector Issue
Discussion
Hi all, I’m new to owning a TVR 280i. I’m bobs280i’s son, over the year I’ve been slowly working on the car. The issue I’ve run into is I went to replace the gear selector bushing I’ve heard been called the baseball bushing (the rubber/plastic ball that sits in the selector lever itself) as the gear shifter was sloppy. I found that the bushing was in good condition, however noticed the bushing that sits on the selector fork where the selector and the fork meet to be shot. I believe the gearbox is a type E or rocket box gearbox. Hopefully I can upload a few pictures of it to help. I can’t figure out the name of it and where to get it? Plenty thanks in advance.

The bush is available as an install from the top in a less brittle nylatron (fit on to an extension bar press it into the selector hole and use a long screw driver to remove the extension bar, lube re install the gear lever). I should have a few of them in a box somewhere (I will look). A@
