Time to tap the fountain of Wedge knowledge again...
I noticed yesterday that my osf indicator wasn't working, but the sidelight was flashing instead. I removed the lens and found that half the lamp body had dissolved into rusty flakes. The nearside looks just as bad, so it's replacement time.
Question is, which parts bin are the lamps sourced from, and where can I get hold of replacements?

Noticed lately that an old Toyota MR2 model has something that looked similiar to me. And the xj40 jag had something like that as well.... Potential alternatives perhaps, although I haven't tried any of it myself, but results of being on the outlook as well as mine are on the limit of being ok.
Interested of course if somebody can find an available alternative to the renault 12 bits.
Is coloured LEDs behind a perspex front perhaps the way to go?

I've got an led headtorch which has a flash function which gives 78 flashes/min, which seems about right for and indicator.
Well there you are Rog'...just need an orange filter,and if your indicators pack up, just stick your head out of the appropriate window.
Hmmm, a good solution could be to do away with the rusty metal backing and make a nice plastic one instead. Set into this a series of the previously mentioned LED's and connect them up to the existing wiring for the indicators and sidelights. Attach the whole thing to the car, drill a couple of holes in the plastic backing so that the existing perpex cover will attach to it, and the jobs done! I may have a play I think....

Renault 12, you say? That would make sense - just checked the lamps again and they're marked 'made in france' and 'seima' - the same codes as on the Renault rears.
I'll go and pester the guys at Renault and let you know the outcome next week; if the price is ok I'd definately prefer to buy replacements than make my own.

They are indeed Renault 12 Mk 1 units. I tried to locate a pair from Renault about 8 yrs ago and couldn't get any joy from them. Couple of yrs on, got a pair of Dacia lights (Romanian Renault 12) from Adrian Venn, but I don't think he can source them any more. At wedgefest a couple of people mentioned Reliant Robin lights as an alternative. Might be worth a go........

Aye, some variants of the Robin (or probably the Rialto) use a lamp unit that looks VERY similar to the TVR/ Renault item.

I have replaced mine recently 350s2 and managed to get them from RTR Racing ( Wedge Automotive).
They are criminally expensive for what they are and dont fit without surgery to the terminals on the units ( if you dont modify them the headlights will when you turn them on!!.
Not great but will work with modification.

The stated dimension is about an inch longer than my neighbours Reliant Rialto unit, which is, I believe, the same size as the Renault/wedge unit.

Lots of searching has revealed that Renault can no longer supply the units. There are various items available at electrical factors that could be made to fit (by making suitable backing plates) but wouldn't look quite right.
On the Reliant suggestion I tried a Reliant dealer in Peterborough (no, I didn't realise Reliant dealers still existed either) and they keep the correct replacements in stock. They appear to be a perfect fit and will be fitted soon when I have a spare couple of hours.
