Hi,

as a new Wedge (88 350i) owner I would like to ask the following - On both Wedges that I have driven, same spec. I have noticed a sort of knocking noise under acceleration, sounds like it's coming from the rear. The only noise I can associate it with is that of of a plane 'put put put' noise. It was on both cars I've driven so I guess it's normal - unless they both have the same problem of course but this seems unlikely as the one I drove before was mechanically sound.

Any clues guys or am I being a weirdo?

Cheers.

Could be the exhaust rear section knocking against the chassis - a common fault.

Or it could be that your diff is about to explode...

worth checking the condition of the driveshaft UJ's and wheel bearings these cars have a bit of an appetite for 'em
