Chris seems a real nice guy, and a petrolhead who knows about this section of PH now.
He's picking up the car tomorrow, having been for a look already.
After that I'm sure he'll introduce himself.
The price seems to be what the market will support for that car at present, I'm not one for sitting about making cuppas for tyrekickers for weeks on end, and I consider the financial loss a fair exchange for all of the fun the car has given me, same as the previous one.
When my new toy arrives you'll all be the first (collectively) to know.
One thing is for sure - you couldn't meet a nicer bunch of people than I have through 'Wedging'.

Does seem very cheap for such a car , are you in a hurry for its replacement ? Will it be as fun/loud/characterful/wicked as your wedge .Have you still got your other wedge , the 280i ?
I sold the 280 last September, also on ebay.
Someone got a good buy with that one too.
Matt-man -
Told you you should go for this one! Frankly I'm choking, Four thousand effing four hundred pounds! What shall I sell mine for? I think I'll raffle it.
This does perhaps undermine the prices of Wedges. Only a few months ago good 400's were doing a good £8k or so. So this is a 390 - but a 390 S2; so a 400 barring a few cc.
Didn't the 400 with 460 engine needing refurb on ebay recently reach £4k ish and remain unsold?
However, Graham is at liberty to sell for what he is happy with - and if the seller is happy and the buyer happy then that is the perfect deal!
I do think, however, that this confirms the point that with classic cars at auction you are likely to pay about 60% of street value (maybe as low as 40% in some cases), and on ebay classic cars like this sell for really low prices.
Good luck with your new toy Graham! Hope it's a great deal of fun and enjoyment.
