Hi all,

thankyou all who replied to the previous post, most helpful.

The wheels on my series 1 are original. I want to replace the with larger wheels with a profile of tyre that will give me the overall same height.

I have seen wheela advertised ( i.e. Peugeot ) that state they will also fit ford including the capri.

Are there likely to be any problems replacing with wheels that originally tighten with studs as opposed to nuts or doesn't it matter.

Anyone had any experience with fitting alternative wheels.

Thanks

Steve

Steve, Capri wheels won't fit as they are 4 stud. The hubs on the Wedges are from a MK2 Granada, not sure they were fitted to any other Ford models, even the Cortina had 4 stud hubs IIRC.
It is possible to pick up 15" lattice wheels at a reasonable price.

Do you know what,
im supposed to be a trained observer, dont ask for me if someone burgles your house.
Never had the wheels off since ive had it, I assumed that the series ones were 4 stud and went over to five when they put the v8 in.

Feel a right tit now.........................

So does that expand or limit my options. The original alloys have been renovated but i fancy some 5 spokes or similar.

Cheers
for pointing out the obvious

I have supplied modified 16" TVR Cerbera wheels to a fellow wedger on this forum. Let me know if you are interested. He had no problems insurance wise, and you get to use genuine TVR kit with 245/45/16 tyre on the rears.
