I agree Al I would not take my 4x4 onto Hixon its a S*it hole, it had NO surface the last time I looked. Which is why I have looked at Seighford airfield NOT Hixon. I would post an ariel photo, but I dont know how to do it, I bet someone will .

I thought that you might have been referring to Seighford as Hixon is 10 miles from J14. I was responding to the photo. Seighford certainly is a decent surface

It's only 50 miles from Ettington, could be a good Sunday venue for a TVR only sprint...
Not sure about setting up a greenfield BBWF though, lots of extras to organise, e.g. loos, power, bar, lighting, overnight security etc etc etc etc.

I agree with most of that, and have to say i doubt we'd get the attendance if folks had to pitch a tent, I do however I question the need for overnight security. At PistonFest 04 Dave hired a third party security firm, over and above the gate men at Shakespeare County Raceway, and to be honest they caused all the unrest there. And if you look back to the General Gassing threads around July 04 you will find even Dave agreeing with that point.
If the Dutch guy's had of been there they would of been threatened, in no uncertain terms, to be chucked out for their rolling burnouts etc. If you look at Ettington, there's no extra security except the remote barrier on the entrance.

OK It looks like we have a bit of interst I am out that way again early next week I will get some more info and post it here. ( in honour of rev, and his spellchecker we could call it the flip flop fish fest first flying fun day )

The airfeild at Seighford belongs to a local farmer who will allow its "quiet" use for a fee.This may exclude wedges unfortunately. I used it a few years ago with Men and Motors for a programme they were doing on TVR Griffith and Corvette. We used it for some relatively slow car to car filming but it is pretty rough and stoney and would probably be too damaging for you P and J. It is also not very long since part of it is used for HGV driving tests. sTeVeR
