My motorfactor says my 400se has a TVR only master cyl. Girling unit, i dont believe it, it MUST be off something else too? He says £140, not keen on the price tag. Bet its not that much for an escort, Orion etc.

Try looking at a MK4 Cortina, I fitted a 3 litre Capri master cylinder to my 400 no problem although the reservoir is at a slight angle compared to the Cortina one.

If you can track down the wedge craig scrapped for me last week, there was a newish looking cylinder on that?

Key point is the size of the master cylinder bore and the fitting onto the servo. At least 7 different master cylinders have been used including TR7, various Cortinas and varients thereof. The number of pipes etc have changed and so on, bolt patterns and so on. There should be a part number on it which might help you identify it.

Is it just worn seals? Get the casting number off the cylinder (eg 64676310 or similar) and the bore size and Girling should be able to do you a seal kit for buttons...
