Thought I would start a new thread as there is a fair bit of news
My split rims are being done again following some attacking them with a brillo pad and an out of court settlement.
On further inspection one of the bolts has already sheared and 3 of the wheels were buckled so that set me off in search of bolts (and tools) at a more reasonable price than 2.50 each on ebay
The company who did the brillo job were oh so not helpful on questions of material grade and tensile strength
So I have bought these polished stainless steel jobbies and the correct serrated nuts
I have a few extra sets which reduced the unit cost so if anyone wants some I will bring them to BBWF
Now the best part is the tools which I ordered as well (having spoken to Adam Quantrill)
The 10 point tools are expensive for the old bolts/nuts, the 12 point tools much cheaper for the new bolts/nuts
so I want to suggest the idea of hiring them for a month or so

Could you mail me the cost of a full set of nuts and bolts plus hire of tools ta.
I'm halway through mine but the originals (titanium I think) let the job down and they get in the way of my Dremmel drill!!!

Dicky although I stripped my wheels completely apart to polish the rims and powder coat the centres, I'am reliably informed that what you propose, assuming you just want to polish your rims, (ie take out a couple of bolts, say three at a time), as been done successfully.
Ah ha if you stripped them apart were they in 2 pieces or 3 ?

What he really wants to know - is the 2 piece wheel a centre and a complete rim or a centre and rim back and a bolt on rim front (or somefink like dat)
