Just wanted to introduce myself to the forum following recent purchase of 400SE in BRG, picked up north of Edinburgh & driven all the way (with a big grin www.pistonheads.com/gassing/icons/2.gif

There's a few bits I need to sort out...I've got the 'bible' on order but first job is getting a custom SS exhaust made up. Anyone know of a good supplier/fitter in the south?

Welcome Hueb. No recomendations to give, but I will say that I opted for a stainless rear section (the bit aft of the silencer) but retained a mild steel silencer box, on the basis that they do take a bit of a bashing at times, and for me it was easier to weld repairs to something in mild rather than stainless. My last one lasted for about 5 yrs. before I replaced it.

I had a Stainless main system fitted to the 390 when the original system failed. I went to PD Gough near Nottingham. They had the car all day and took the old one off, made the new one to the same dimensions and refitted it.
They added a good thick guard plate to the centre silencer - I could probably jack the car up on it.
A couple of years later the manifolds went so I went back there again to have these done. This took two days including fitting etc. so I stayed overnight in a local pub.
They give a guarantee for the lifetime of the car and I have no problem in recommending them. Still going well after about 15 years - cost about £800 total incl. fitting.

I'll definately be coming to this year's BBBF. Went last July...great day even without my own TVR at the time!
The car has cream/green interior which is in overall very good condition... but will need to replace some of the veneer at some point.
Bob, Paul, I'm in Petersfield so fairly close by. Would be great to meet up sometime.

Clive, we very often go to the West Sussex meet at Goodwood (mainly for the drive really) so I'll let you know for next time.
I am also provisionally making plans for a combined BBWF / Back home trip in July. I'll send you my emails if you want?
Regards
Paul
