Welcome!

You have obviously found the access hole underneath to manually wind it. Try feeling around through this hole to see if the wiring has snagged on the pod. This happened to mine once, just needed freeing then tidying up. This is a lot easier if you can raise the front of the car up a bit.

I take it you've checked the neighbours cat isn't stuck up there?!

Hmmm, couple of possibles: one is that the shaft is seizing in its bearing as it turns. Another is that the nylon drive gear has stripped; a third is that the wiring harness has got caught in the linkage...

If it turns out to be the rose joints in the link you can fix it by taking it off and greasing all the bits.

Have a look with a torch down the gap between the pod and the bodywork. If the nut has come loose on the bolt that goes through the side of the pod and connects the rose joint, the bolt cold be sticking out a bit and catching under the body on the way up.

Just bought a 35OSE so new to all this wedge stuff. Having a problem with the passenger side pop up headlight. Motor will only lift it so high. Have tried to manually wind it up but will only wind up half way. Seems as if it's catching somewhere.
Any ideas on how to resolve this.

Welcome. What colour and number is your SE?

Hope you sort out the light problem.

Thanks for all your suggestions. Managed to sort out the problem. Wiring got caught in the linkage. Now fully operational though. Thanks

By the way anyone any ideas of where I can find on the bodywork/chassis what the number of my 350SE is??
