How well are your windows adjusted?

Do you need to "up" your windows after putting the lid on?
This is one thing that bugs me about mine, I always say I'm going to adjust them but never seem to. Mine go up too far.

I have also considered making that peice of trim along the edge of the top that overhangs the window just a tad longer so it overhangs the window more. (when I get a new soft top and get the top panel recovered)

Anything to be aware of when taking off the door panels to adjust windows?

Be careful of the trim clip/studs that hold it in the door. My trim came off sort of OK but the studs looked like they can snap easily. Then its keeping your pinkys clear when trying the mechanism. Greased it all up before replacing where required.

PS, have some plastic sheet ready to cover up the holes with some decent tape to seal it back up.

Mine used to do this, so that with the window fully up the door wouldn't shut properly. But since my last service this has been sorted.

My drivers window was a fraction higher than the roof line when I bought the car, used to lead the window in so that it went under the rim of the roof, stopped that after I broke the glass. Its now adjusted to go just below the roof line but it isnt as weather proof. The plastic bits round the door catches seem the most fragile my car only has one. Best to never put the roof up and drive faster if it rains. Most of the clips on my panels need replacing thanks to previous owners anybody now of a good source?

I didn't know there was a means of adjusting them. I've just had the door panel off to investigate and couldn't see a way of limiting the height or the angle. Both of mine appear to be too high at the rear, casusing them to foul the back of the roof panel. I looked at trying to adjust the angle by moving the bottoms of the runners forward but there doesn't appear to be a slot for adjustment. Any help appreciated.

I did seal the leak coming from the door handle though - it's a lot warmer inside now.

If it is like or is a 400, then there is a cable with a bicycle brake part on it, set this to the required height by using the stop with a grub screw in it.

No bike cables or similar in mine. There is a bracket attached to the bottom of the rear channel, where it's bolted to the bottom of the door. About two inches long, pointing upwards, with a hole at the top. Is this where the cable should be? If so, where does the other end fix?

Yes the threaded adjuster goes on the bracket. I think the other end attaches to the scissor mechanismnear the top somewhere. If you see a small hole drilled through it then loop the cable through that and clamp it back on itself using the metal insert from an electical connector block or similar.
