Anyone contemplating fitting a roll bar, I would strongly recommend it. Best ££s I have spent in ages. I can’t believe how different the car is!! It has really stiffened the chassis up and made the steering sharper.

Fitting it was like "wrestling" though... but worth it. Looks the dogs now as well. Had some good advice from Tower View.

Writeup time for the Wedge Pages or Sprint? I'd be interested to learn how much, where from, and how to.

No problem, I would be more than happy for here and the wedge pages... you all made me think I should have took some more photos now! She is back up on axle stands cos I didn’t do one of the exhaust joints to well so I will take some piccys and jot some words down.

had my rollbar for almost 6 years now.

First one was ok, it stiffened upthe chassis a lot, but the second one was a lot bigger, and colour coded to the car.

Mine was designed and fitted by Peninsula before they went all lotus and moved from Collumpton

had my peninsula roll bar for over a year now,and am glad i had it fitted..not only for the comfort of the harnesses, but it looks real nice, and did seem to stiffen up the chassis. the only drawback being the transmission of diff bearing whine at speed into the cockpit . I was thinking of filling the bar with expanding foam to try to deaden the noise.

Please someone correct me if I am wrong here but I think the chassis are different from the earlier 280 cars (probably with trailing arm suspension) to the later 390/400/450's etc. When I asked around about 4 years ago for a roll bar for my 83 Tasmin, no one seemed to make one for the earlier cars. Just thought it may be worth clarifying this now before someone with an early Wedge thinks this roll bar is going to fit.

Dont bother the result is minimal.

Ive tried expanding foam, ans also re-mounting the bar through rubber blocks ... i just learn to live with it

Penninsula had my diff internals polished while the body was off.
I can only hear transmission noise when the hood is up.

However, there is an annoying squeak I've never been able to fix which I think is caused by the roll bar rubbing against the rear bulkhead where it passes into the boot.
