Bonnet question

On my 400 just removed the bonnet to see why dips in the middle at the front end. Whilst still preparing the nose cone / underbonnet area
On closer inspection there is a support bar running across the front. This has started to come adrift which is probably causing the bonnet to sink.
What the best way to reattach ?
Don't really want to take of completely as I'll probably screw it up totally then.
Don't want to rivet to bonnet as would then need to do more filling and sanding
Can I just pour resin in between bits clamp down for a while and then glass sheets over the edge and back onto underside of bonnet. My only concern with this is will it ripple or distort the bonnet as you look at it from the top ?

I had a similar issue with the roof of my lotus and the roll bar which is unseen inside the car and i found the best thing to attach things like this to be 1855 sealant, which is the stuff that they bond windscreens into your car with. You have to stick it in the oven for ten minutes to warm it up and then squirt it between the bar and the surface, then you can clamp the panel in the right position and leave it for 24 hrs to set. It grabs in around 1/2hr i.e. you have 1/2 hr to do it but it cures overnight. This made a fairly flexible roof in my lotus into a rigid panel.

Any chance of a piccy Paul as not too sure where this support is? Is the bonnet off the car? If so, and areas are clean there could be several easy fixes with a structural sealant like Sikaflex 291 or similar. Or ossibly weighting down the bar and bonding with glass and resin.

This is usually because the bolts holding the bonnet to the wings have been tightened a little too much.
