wedge blow out!!!!

just to let you know had a blow out yesterday doing 80mph on the m50 (driver side rear)car behaved well just directed her to the hard shoulder with out to much drama! Think i hit a bit of metal in the road as there was a clunk moments bfore it happened.... But glad that the car did not go into a spin...
Not as dramatic but I'd been out to a meet somewhere and had just been in convoy with Stainless on the Motorway. We'd just gone our seperate ways and I was making brisk progress in the outside lane when the engine coughed once and died !!
I had to negotiate 2 lanes of traffic and it was a busy motorway all the while the car was scrubbing off speed like it had just popped an airbrake !
Turned out the ignition lead had popped off ! Luckily when we were parked on the hard shoulder and some of my colour had come back the missus asked why we had stopped !!

i live not far from evesham (where are you?)! put the spare on and bought a new tyre in monomuth no bother. Only bad bit was changing it in the dark i would not have mined but both the rears where new last year!
Used to own an esprit and the fuel pump died in the outside lane on the m6 panic staions changing lanes with no go! everybody thinking your a nuter....

Yeah I had a rear go, the car was really very stable and in fact I hadn't noticed until some chap started flashing me! Main problem was jacking it up enough on a flat tyre to get the spare on there. In the end I had to let it down onto the wheel I took off then jack it up again nearer the back.
its fair to say i got a major sweat on jacking her up did it form the middle, jack was groanig a bit. But i think it was adrenalin of doing it the dark (aye aye) with lorrys taring past misus holding the torch gave me some extra welly....arms still aching today.But yes the lack of drama was quite reasurng....
