Question for the teccies ?
Discussion
Does the thermotime switch play an important part in the running of the engine ?
Also what is the resistor pack doing - something to do with the injectors ?
Does the flapper system have an ir temperature sender in it or is the afm just the measuring the amount of air going in ?
Just asking as reading up on the megasquirt n spark ecu to see what bits I could remove

Yeah the flapper has a temperature sensor for this reason: hot high pressure air pushes the flap just as much as cold but dense lower pressure air. But the AFM has to measure the air mass going into the engine. So the flapper deflection is combined with the temperature measurement to work out the mass of air.

Oh! you've beaten me to it!
Seriously though. I've spent quite some time reading up on this efi system as well as diagnosing it and can confirm the correctness of the previous comments.
I'd like to do the megasquirt thing myself. If you can do a good deal for two off then drop me a line.

Do you have a junk ecu that could be utilized or would you want to do full wiring yourself.
I think there may be others here interested in the mega squirt kit and I know this chap is working on a 4.0l TVR as well as running his own 5.0l TVR engine using a megasquirt n spark - what I am going for. I will try and give more info on what I'm trying to do if anyone wants it, but basically doing it in 3 or 4 stages so I get used to playing with the system and what it can do for you.
Will approach him and see what he say's to a Wedge discount

Yes backwards compat for the first stage of just fuelling I think - still waiting for more info and confirmation
As for old ecu look for aomething out of old Rover v8 or Jag V8 with knackered ecu as you really only need the housing and the connector, must be loads out there as it seems everyone on here has gone through at least 1 ecu swap
