From todays smudget.......

Cars with the lowest rate of emissions would pay no vehicle excise duty but the 1% of most polluting cars would pay £210

I want the fuel strikes again, and fox hunting back cos them B*****S are mutiplying and my chickens are under seroius threat.

I absolutly F******G hate Mr B****e...

(No appologies given to Mr B****e lovers. Watch your wage packets drop boys!)

At the start of the last century I think there were about 5 billion (American billion) souls on this earth. Now there are 6! We each kick out a bit of CO2.

I suggest we stop breathing to save the planet - or at least 1B of us should.

Edited - Oops! is CO2 or CO the nasty greenhouse gas? Maybe one is as bad as the other?

Chickens, chickens..............

They'll probably die of bird flu anyway!

A bear, a lion and a chicken were having a chat. The bear said "I only have to growl and the whole of Canada trembles with fear", The lion said "When I roar, the whole of Africa quakes with fear". The chicken said, "I don't know about that, but I only have to cough and the whole planet wets itself!"

Da da!

It's often said that cows cause more global warming and polution than a lot of things by the amount of methane they chuck out.

Then there are the power stations.

Why do we get clobbered when USA + Russia + India + China do absolutely all towards the "green enviroment".

Climbs down and breaths.

The amount of pollutants that we as a nation chuck out in total is a fraction of the total the above produce. If we all stopped driving now it would make hardly any difference at all to the overall total.

I like the chicken joke, made me smile. Funny thing is they do sneeze, one of mine has got a dodgy snout and she's always doing it. If she got it I would never know!!

Ah yes, but as a responsible 'first world' nation we have to be seen to lead by example...

What gets me is that with this new tax regime, lots of idiots will rush out and buy that Honda hybrid thing, gloating that they get 'free tax', oblivious to the fact that instead of giving Tony and Gordon £150 a year, they'll give them 17.5% of whatever the new car costs...

Also you get yourself a 4l Disco V8 with a gas conversion which has very little emissions and you still gotta pay the higher rate?

Listen guys - it could be worse, the b*******ds could have banned all cars above the co2 emissions of an electric wheelchair. As it is we still get to drive these marvellous ozone depleting creations around the place with a certain amount of impunity - the next generation may not be so lucky - so let's enjoy it whilst we can!

Dan -

Took the car off the road for a while - no particular faults with the car though. Maybe put it back on road April and aim for the April meet at The Forresters. If not in the Wedge may just drive down there anyway to say hello.
