Ebay Rear Lights - Beware

Thought I had brought these once!!!!

Paid by paypal and then the guy insisted on a cheque, told him I would send him a cheque if he told me where to send it, he them relisted them!!!! I have a spare pair already so not really bothered.

Any suggestions on the feedback I should leave?

Regarding leaving eBay feedback, DON'T bother as whatever you leave they will almost certainly retaliate blaming you for the failed deal. However, if they leave you a negative first, then put one back on their account and request through ebay a mutual withdrawal of feedback to clear your account name.

If you leave him bad feedback, as someone else has already suggested, ge will leave bad feedback for you.

ebays a load of old cobblers!

I had my account suspended and court threts from e-bay (dont ask, long political bill which wasnt mine) and after all that i still have a clear profile!

Problem with ebay is that you are trusting some random....would you truct any old person you meet on the street??? Probably not...funny how we all somehow have trust in the old internetty spagetti!!!

ive just orderd a pair of lights from renault £67 the pair so y dont u just get them new ive got the part no if u req them

I have managed to cancel my Paypal payment, and I never sent him a cheque as he never give an address to send it to! He has stated that he has relisted the same pair.

As I have a spare pair already not really bothered, £13.25 looked a reasonable price for a second hand pair as I paid £20 for my other set from a local guy breaking a Fuego.

He has sent me another mail saying he doesn't like being messed around, attack is the best form of defence?

My guess is he has now spotted that they fit a wedge, by the other adverts that have appeared and is expecting to get a lot more money for them!

I have not left any feedback for him, which then seems abit sel defeating. All the other items I have got through EBay have been so simple!

I would advise ebay of the situation - viz that you paid and didn't get the goods. However, I am sure ebay has problems with it's software. I have had a long and protracted battle with them concerning payment arrangements which were made and which they said were not - I think that their site just does not work properly some of the time.

I WOULD leave feedback. Probably the best thing to say would be "....paid by Pay Pal but did not receive goods, seller then asked for cheque - perhaps there is a problem with Paypal and he didn't get paid"

Negative feedback is not easy. I have had much worse thing happen on ebay. but I resist neg feedback, best to try and sort it out. If all else fails just remember its ONLY EBAY. its not life and death. and if you cant sort it and still feel done then give him BOTH BARRELLS let him have it at least you would feel better and if you state the facts then others can judge for themselves if he is a to55er or not. He runs, or has run a fuego (which only have 3 good things aboout em, the 2 rear lights and the fact they dont make em anymore) and sells china pigs, so the odds are stacked against him anyway.

I missed your post saying you had got your money back - seems we were posting at about the same time.

I would still raise the situation with ebay. It could well be that their Paypal system cocked up.

IMHO - the whole eBay feedback situation is a mostly worthless. If you have a good transaction - and most of mine have been - well and good and the feedback works. Have a problem or want to leave a caveat and you wind up with unwarranted negative feedback - some amount of which is OK if you are power seller but rather bad news if you are an occasion buyer/seller.

And eBay CLEARLY does not police the deal, particular when it's your word vs a power seller.

I bought a laptop power supply from a power seller who failed to disclose he was located in China. While the goods were fine, it took almost a month to get them to the US. I left only neutral feedback noting the time for delivery. He retaliated with nasty, negative feedback and then immediately emailed me offering mutual withdrawal and admitted in the email that his feedback was "posted in error".

I pestered eBay for a month complaining that if the someone openly admitted posting "in error", eBay should just remove it. I even ran a bunch of searches and found every non-positive comment about the seller was met with nasty negative feedback. Ebay's crack "dispute specialists" basically said too bad, the seller is a power seller. So on the 29th day, I blinked and agreed to retract.

And....they are for sale ! I will bring them to the BBWF together with a F%$&*)#@ lot of Heineken.

Renault Netherland can't deliver them anymore !
So if Renault UK still deliveres them, I should order a spare one (or two)
