Another Yellow Monster !!!
Discussion
I am sure the plate on the Yellow wedge is the same as the one I owned on a 390se in the early nineties. My old car was white with a red interior, was a 87 car too wonder if it is the same car?
would love to know what happened to it and my old 280i, ah the happy memories of the noise, the wind in my hair (when I had some) and crippling repair bills..

IIRC it belonged to a guy who built the car up for some considerable amount of money as can be seen from the ad.. at the time he had a webpage selling the car which was well put together with all photos/details.. think it last sold around 2003, the rears are Tuscan racer 16", fronts off a 400 SE..

Looks very, very nice.
390 front spoiler too![]()
Is this a little overpriced for a what is essentially a 350i with a 4.6?
I take your point that it will always be a 350i but it seems to me that you may be being a little unfair. It appears to have a great engine, radiator, brakes, wheels and tyres, suspension and body kit. What do you feel that it lacks compared to a 390SE? It's always very difficult to value specials IMHO. Did Mat's go for about £2K less? This is beefier.

Not knocking this yellow monster - it looks awsome!
Its just I asked a simular question of my modified 350i (fitted with fully specked JE Engineering 4.5 conversion) and was told this would de-value my 350, despite being fairly simularily specked to this yellow monster...

Ah yes, I remember your car now. I didn't think that it had all of the other bits that this car had and was under the impression that it was only the engine that was different. I also thought that your car would be worth nore than standard, not devalue it, but agreed that you'd be better off dropping a standard 3528/3948 engine in and selling the tuned one separately. If anyone fancies the yellow one just offer what it's worth to you, you never know... all IMHO of course.
Looking at the pics and the spec I think it's a bloody good price. No, it's never going ot be a "real" 390SE or whatever, just as mine will never be anything other than a 350 as well. But, if you are looking for a Wedge and not a SEAC etc, then what do you class as "original" and does it really matter, if the spec is good and it makes you grin.....
....and with that spec it bloody well should.
