Check your MOT boys

The worst thing is you are technically uninsured if your MOT has run out. Managed to explain away this problem when my son was stopped one night and had to produce his documents. I played the concerned parent and the nice PC fortunately didn't slap him in irons.
Quite true, nice to see some discretion being used.
However, you are still insured if the vehicle is on it's way to and from a pre arranged MOT test.

What is more impotant is that now MOT certificates are issued by a device linked to Swansea DVLC and there is something called MIID (Motor Insurance Industry Database), the Police can tell instantly whether your car is insured and has a valid MOT.
The insurer is responsible for ensuring that private motorists are on the MIID but fleet operators have to keep additions and deletions to their fleet updated within 14 days of acquisition or disposal via their website. It is quite an onerous task as I know to my expense!
It's great for catching the deliberately uninsured and those without MOTs through choice but there is now no leeway for those that forget, so watch out and use your diaries!

Just had mine MOT'd this week.
The computerised system did not have a TVR 450SE on it's car list. Not sure about the other models. MOT tester put it down as a TASMIN which was on the system !!
MUST get the MOT boys to get all the models listed properly.![]()
Nige'
I know what you mean. Took my run about for an MOT last year and the database didn't even list a Honda Accord 2.0l SE Automatic (which seem really common) so not sure how it's going to deal with a Tasmin 200 with uprated Cosworth engine.........
Gassing Station | Wedges | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff

it runs out when I'm away so have to get it sorted prior to going.
