Well I suppose it had to be done and she certaintly feels much tighter now and stops better I've also reduced the price by £500 so I suppose I might as well have handed a potential purchaser £2.5k.

Blasting around Derbysire this afternoon with the top down certaintly gave me a few second thoughts. Wonder if I can rig a baby seat between the seats

On the other hand, I'll take the £2.5k and you may keep the car!

It's been done - I went to a meet years ago and a couple in a V8S had the baby between them on the back shelf.. it wasn't resting there either, they'd actually rigged up a proper mount for the seat. How cool is that little one!

Cool but did they change the V5 to a 3 seater?

doubt it highly, but you never know.. at least the baby had the best view from back there.. perhaps that's what gave Gordon Murray the idea for the McLaren F1 central driving position

There were probably 3 seat configurations - especially centre driver 3 seaters - as far back as tiller steered cars.

But the most obvious 3 seat mid driver configurations were the two (I think) Ferrari 365 type mid dengined styling excercises by Pininfarina in the 60's/70's. One (maybe the two) went to Gianni Agnelli and I think is still with his family and the other may be in a museum. The white one is quite Wedge-ish in style

I found it very odd when Murray proposed patenting the layout!

With the comments re the baby seat, I can just see TVR offering this as an option - with the new advertising slogan 'The small family car'.
