I was looking fo a supplier of Jetex bits but couldn't find anyone. So went to a local Jag breaker and managed to get hold of a few scrap exhausts. Various lengths and bent angles of 2-1/2 tube, spent a whole day cutting and welding to make a complete system that goes to thr rear. All for £10 bucks!!!!!
Took the car out on a run on the weekend and it sounds awesome. If not a bit too loud. Definite growl and a bark at 2500rpm. Well chuffed.
If you are any good with a welder etc I would say go for it !

Shame you don't live 200 miles closer, you could teach me how to do a better weld on alloy than I can at the moment...

Don't get me wrong, I can make two bits of alloy get jiggy, but I won't be doing anything 'presentation' anytime soon...

It was the stupid prices for a bit of perforated tube from Demon that got me looking.

Actualy if you live anywhere near an exhaust place it's worth digging through their skip, much of the stuff in there is basically sound, it's surprising what people throw out these days....

On mine I bought a stainless manifold from ACT and got them to leave the back pipe as just a flange, I then used a straight pipe welded onto end , under axle (ala Seac) a 90 degree bend which then joined to rest of exhaust that was still in good nick (so still exits through the original hole in spoiler)

My welding was not the best, but has not leaked for 2 years, and whole lot is still higher than the silencer, in fact at MOT last week we noticed a hole had been ground into the end of exhaust by seam where it bottoms out over humps, but not leaking as the exit pipe must go quite a way into the exhaust Need to put some sort of titanium skid plate on the end

I sort of fancy it as a challenge now, get all the bits of pipe and bends etc and start form the front back. I was going to make it so the exit was original. I keep looking underneath and cant work out why it doesn’t just come straight out of the centre box to the back... why all the up and over bit? The centre box will always be the only bit that bottoms out!!

Adam. I didn’t think of skip hunting... I think your right there are always bits in good nick that they throw away.

You might have to beat Jim 'Skip Monkey' Chase to it though...

That's what the SEAC exhaust does.

From the centre box - it just goes straight under the axle and out the back.

I'll take pictures if you need them.

Oi! I prefer skip 'rodent' if you don't mind. Incidentally, I just ordered some ACT manifolds too.

I really hate the middle box, it scrapes along every speed bump there is. Would love to see some pics of a decent solution, maybe boxes under the seats? or a straight through pipe?
