Wedge 350 wont start
Discussion
Hi,
Have a tasmin 350i (series 1), first had symptoms as follows:
Brought car as a project, had been sitting around for approx 3 years
Finally got to start car, and would run for approx 10 mins, and then would just stop
Symptom has now got worse - and car will not start at all, with no spark.
any one have any ideas?
Obvious candidates are ecu / distributor / ballast resistor / ignition unit
Also - if anyone has thoughts around fault diagnosis / steps I could take - that would be great.
Many thanks,
Stuart.

Try the EFI system PDF here www.pixeltechnology.co.uk/wedge/maintenance.html
Could well be the ignition module (on side of the dizzy) these tend to break down when hot prior to totall failure.

Worth while having a look at TVR Wedge Pages website and viewing the section on maintainance Wedge Epistles 2.
Lot of good ideas to go at.
I have recently had same problem abit ended up a different reason, but only way is to take the basics one at a time.
Earth leads.
Clean electrical contacts.
Distributor sparking.
Coil OK.
Good battery helps.
Etc Etc.
Good luck

Start with the basics. Check for air/fuel/spark. (Sorry for stating the obvious)
If it's been sitting that long my guess is the fuel will be stale and there may be condensation and most likely crap in the tank. If so...
Drain the tank, flush it with a bit of new fuel then change the fuel filter.
There's plenty of good info in the links already provided but here is a new one that just got discovered up the other day.

OK I just re-read your post properly this time! So you can ignore most of the above. But the like is still worth a read.

Sounds as if you have already tracked it down as far as the ignition system. First check if you have a spark at the king lead - this rules out the HT distribution side of the dizzy. If you do, it's a simple HT fault. Otherwise, the next step is to see whether the coil is working: +12 on the +ve side, briefly short the -ve side to earth and see whether you get a spark on the king lead. If you do get a spark then you have a wiring/amplifier/pickup fault, if not then a duff coil.
