Today is new windscreen day

My 400 screen has gone milky round the edge, and due to my phobia of sharp knives I stuck some black plastic on it and forgot about it, untill........... A34 southbound one large stone, 70 odd MPH...... one very large chip, and a new screen required.
So I have had to overcome my fears and Rubin is booked in for a new one at 2 oclock today.
I dislike the dentist, doctor, VAT man, HSE and Tony Blair but today is like all that lot rolled into one, I hate the 'not being in control thing' Wifey is coming to hold my hand but think of me at 2

Well, once me and 5 fitters had a good look at it and with the time available we decided it was best to fix the chip on the p/s and not replace the screen, this took 15 mins and worked very well, still a very small mark in front of wifey looks a bit like a very small dead fly.
I was very pleased with the service AND I got to the pub for my lunch
Certainly cheaper than mine.
Screen 1 was broken on arrival.
Screen 2 went on - I looked at it and said "Where are my windscreen trims then?"
Screen 3 - they couldnt make the trims fit and it go in the hole at the same time.
At least by this stage they were well practiced and the mastic actually looks fairly smooth.
All for 50 quid. Baaargin!

I take it Adam that is on the 350 ?
The problem with the 400 screen is that it is a very tight fit with no trim and a very small gap between screen and bodywork, the bottom of the screen, inside cant even be cleaned unless you have fingers as long as Freddie from Elm street. The chip repair was the best option for my screen by far, I have no doubt that I will need a new screen one day but the very nice fitter man said he would need the car for at least a full day so he could take his time with it or if I ever have the need to remove the dash it could be done at that time.
One thing to remember if you get a stone chip in your screen get it repaired ASAP before water and crab get into it. only took 15 mins and you can hardly tell. Amazering
