Throttle linkage.

OK, replaced old with a new one but this bit is a tad puzzling. Whilst I have adjusted the slack out and it is nice and responsive now, all that this adjustment seems to do is alter the peddle travel? Any pearls of wisdom?

Yes, all that does is adjust the pedal height.

The throttle plate travel is set by the throttle stop on the throttle housing, but there shouldn't be any need to change this just because you've replaced the cable.

I've only ever had one return spring. I note in your picture it shows two which are different in size. What should they have? Do I need another one?

It was set up when I had it rebuilt, so not sure why. Sort of assumed they were different because that was what was available rather than getting them to match?

the thinner spring is the new version, not as strong as the old ones, but they come in packs of 4 so you can use more.

It's a safety device, common in racing, just in case one snaps.
