Discoverd a little known trick with road tax. Went to the PO on Friday and got my tax disk which officially starts on 1sy May (taking car off SORN), they will sell you a new one two working days ahead of the start of the month, yipee three days free!
So to congratulate myself I went for a bit of a blast on Friday evening.
The newly installed PAS is brilliant. The car feels so much more agile at all speeds and i didn't notice any lack of feel at high speeds.
So to everyone without PAS who is comforting themselves that they get more feel I say

I'd check that. I'm sure you're not actually officially taxed until 1st of May should anything "happen" so to speak.

yes you can get the tax 2 days before the start of the month, but it is still classed as untaxed i think until the first of the month. you can retaxa taxed vehicle upto 2 weeks before the renewal date as well

But first we have to drive 10 times round a tight circular track one handed (using your wrestling arm of course).
I think it's true that the tax didn't really start until 1st of the month but I felt so much better with one that said Oct 06 rather than Sept 05.

Having a current tax disc lends a bit more security to a day out for sure.
