A lot of useful detail but it doesn't tell you the basic inspection procedure.
1. Start with the rhs rocker cover - the easy one to remove. Take it off.
2. Rotate the engine - either on the starter, or in 4th gear and rotate a back wheel, or a big socket on the crank.
3. Watch the rockers moving - if one or more is moving with less amplitude then you've probably got a worn cam.
4. If that side looks OK then repeat for the other side - but you'll probably have to take off the plenum cover to get at the rockers.

As an aside, if you take off and throw away the throttle body heater (blank the bolt holes and link the hoses afterwards) it is possible to remove the LH cover without taking the plenum off.
