The wedge bible says to lubricate the window seals with the same stuff that divers use. Is this silicone grease or PTFE grease or a mixture of the two.

Also is it just the seal on either side of the window or should you lubricate the seal on the A-pillar as well.

I've always used "WD40" or "back to black". Either product in the window channel works fine.

Eddited to say misunderstood the post first off. Original comment still stands for window runners. As for the actual seals, then any silicon based product should stop the rubber from drying out, cracking and discolouring. Again, "back to black" would work fine.

I use Hycote heavy duty silicone spray which seems to work very well.

You should never use any oil based lubricant on rubber, it rots the rubber making seals brittle and window slides swell and jam the glass. WD40 is particularly aggressive and the last thing you should be using on window seals and runners. Proper silicone based rubber lubricant does the job without attacking the rubber.

I consider myself well and truly told off, well as far as the WD goes anyway as the back to black is silicon based.

A can of clear silicon spray worked wonders for mine. Was less than a fiver from the local motor spares shop.
