squeak...help!

Tonight, i took the wedge to the pub to blow some cobwebs out, and there seems to be an annoying squeak coming from somewhere....

It happens when in a straight line, and get worse when turning left, but vanishes when turning right, a similar way when weel bearings wear out and hum!

Anyone got any ideas?

Is this bushes?

Im worrying about her trip to Lemans next week!

i dont think so...you never know, but it not that kind of squeak....and when i put the brackes on, it doesnt make much difference...

I've had a driveshaft uj squeak when running dry. Always worth giving them all a good shot with a grease gun anyway.

Probably not bushes - I know that on the way back from the pub sometimes you can hear the trees squeaking as the breeze exerts some pressure on them!

well, some very constructive thoughts there....i have to say, i think its probably quite a task to get a girls legs over her head in a wedge....? Im sure someone must have tried it though!

Ill try greasing the uj's this afternoon, going to put her on stands tonight and hopefully find the culprit!

Put oil on all of the moveable suspension joints - including between the rear shock botton and bottom suspension link.

right, well a bit of an update, and a question as always!!!

Greased all of the nipple grease points on the drive and prop shafts, and wd-40ed every bush and bit that moved....took her out for a spin and still that noise!

Ive come to the conclusion that its on the front, so took the wheel off, and felt for any play. Whilst playing a bit, i loosed off the centre nut a little and spun the disk and there was quite a bit of rumble....

sounds like new bearings? Im going to try and get new roller bearings as it looks a bit shot...any one know what it is exactly?

The front hubs are MK2 Granada. Taper bearings, so they will have a small amount of play.

Don't do em up too tight or you will be needing a new hub !

yeah thanks guys, i assumed that was the case...the it was more that when i roll the disks they made such a rumble, and the roller bearing looks quite shagged...

im hoping this will sort the squeek...cant think what else it could be!

some Wedges rattle and squeak a bit anyway - part of their character!
