Speaker Question....

Chaps,
I need some decent speakers for my rear shelf. I'm not going to cut a hole in the car, so need some speaker shelf items, you know, the ones can be screwed in, and are boxed. I have trawled ebay, and apart from a naff set have found nothing.
Are there still decent speakers that are made that sit on the parcel shelf, or are they all potential wedge wreckers??

I got a set of Clarion speakers in the doors and the rear panels just behind the seats. These are more than loud enough to hear over the car - suprisingly! All without having to cut big holes in the rear bulkhead.
I just have the bog standard 'mask' Kenwood head unit and a 6 CD changer which I bought of ebay for £20. Does the job really well and hides the front panel of the head unit when turn it off.
Only trouble is when the roof is off and you want the old Metallica at top level your trousers start to flap with all the air the the cones are displacing!

I think my (Pioneer) headunit is just short of electric.
I'll get it sorted eventually.
If it's a pioneer, all you should need is power to the red and yellow wires coming from the unit. You'll probably find a spare wire dangleing or a fuse holder with either a dead fuse a a missing fuse

I'm struggling with these simplest of things because when I went to live abroad 5 years ago I
shipped all my garage stuff too. Things like CIRCUIT TESTERS, etc.
Now having to put together what I'd gathered over 20 odd years.
Still, the cause of the damage has today officially been excised.
I AM NOW DIVORCED !
That's something to go on anyway.

You can (JUST) fit in a pair of 6x9s where the original speakers are situated under the seatbelt. I think someone else has done the same - possibly Rev-erend.?
I shall post some pics when I remember to take them.
