Grrr - just had a bint in a BMW drive up my rear end when I stopped at a pedestrian crossing. I saw it coming as well but with someone stepping onto the crossing had no option but to keep my foot on the brakes and brace for impact.

Their insurer is NU so I should get paid in good time.

Only issues are:

1) How long to wait for all the stress cracks to develop. At the moment they reach to the rear of the back wheelarch. I've seen stuff keep developing up to 6 months later (eh, chassis 33?) on previous cars.

2) Get a good GRP bodyshop to look after the damage. Any recommendations in the Cambridge area?

Any advice about pushing back on NU standard bodyshops please let me know. My insurers are Classicline so they should be switched on about this hopefully.

Good news is it won't stop me attending BBWF, bad news is I won't be winning any concourse stuff!!!

Dunno what you mean Adam!!! But I did have a dozy muppet in a Micra arse end me on the M6 at the end of May, the dozy mare was looking for her inhaler, judging by the state of the interior it could out been hiding under any of 20cuddly toys, sweet wrappers etc etc. Why don't people put stuff they may need during a journey in easily accessible places, like road atlas on the passenger seat if your going to need it, wallet in the door pocket if your going to have to pay a toll or something.

I've sent Fullbridge an email - how are they with GRP - I note they are E-Type specialists (although I've seen a fair few of them with more plastic filler than metal!!!)?

I want to end up with an 'invisible repair' - no stress cracks, no ripples.

IIRC someone had their 400 done (yep here is the thread www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=51809) and Octanebooster had his Griff there

Just had mine back from Dulford, Front end nose job, and the finish is truly magnificent. Better than new, Richard there wanted "better than new" and that's what I,ve got.

Dulford being in Devon? A bit far for me...

Update - just had a nice call from a chap at NU Direct who say they will pay for it - so I don't need to claim through Classicline - and let me chose the garage. Anyone done this?
