At the weekend - I realised that my front anti roll bar bracket was broken / missing on one side - ordered one from TVRparts on Monday.
It arrived today - fitted it this evening ..
No real problems or difficulty fitting it .. but whilst doing it noticed two things.. roll bar was almost resting on steering arm
Which could well explain the dodgy steering feel I've had under some circumstances recently (since before Le Mans).. when it just got an MOT (was it like that for MOT
)
And then I spotted a chaffed wire by the power steering pulley - turned out this was a wire from the dizzy / amplifier thingy..
although it had not gone all the way thru - it might explain some of the rough running and bad CO readings I've been having recently..
Oh - did I mention I've polished her and cleaned the wheels..

If you had the car jacked up with the suspension fully unloaded, that would explain the rack/rollbar closeness, nore clearance sat on the road...
That would be true except with the rollbar mount missing the rollbar hangs lower by about 2 inches..
Just went for a drive this morning and the steering is perfect..
I'm more than happy.

Same happened to mine a couple of weeks ago i had to use a spanish windless to pull it back up so i could fit the bracket it had dropped that far when i jacked it up
11PM and I'm still working on mine... finally got the bumper and rear light on, stopped things leaking and put odd bits of trim back on... a quick squirt with the hose and that will have to do. Then I need to sort out some clobber, tart meself up and hit the sack.
Must remember to fill up in the AM...
