just in case anyone is interested, there's a 'WH Smith Exclusive' classic car test magazine that has a couple of pages on the 350i in it. General conclusion is that it's great value and actually scores well in each of the categories.
I've seen that as well. Seems to conclude £ for performance its one of the best out there.
