Advice on an Auto wedge please?

Hi

Possibly looking at getting a 350 on a C plate, only thing is it has an Auto box which would be great for driving in town. However ive never seen one with an auto box before. Can anybody advise if TVR ever made them and what they are like to drive?.

Finally is it probably a SDI unit?.

A few were made, but unofficially. Official, think only two were mentioned and they had V6 engines. It has been offered as a factory option and probably a few were converted from manual to auto. And normally it would be the SD1 box.

You could do a search on this forum, as it has been discussed once or twice before. Think it was more like converting to automatic or finding one.

Assuming that it has been converted. Not many factory 350i autos but there were a few.

The car was converted by me some years back for a friend carl who after an accident could only drive auto cars.

Are you looking at the one on ebay and on the PH classifieds when you say you converted it?. If so what did it drive like and do you know anything else about it that you could pass on?.

Thats the one, sweated blood and tears on the car.
Carl already had a 280i and wanted more power, so we bought the 350 and an SD1 donner car. The SD1 had just had a new auto box fitted which we robbed. Conversion was straight forward topped off with a fantastic Haywood and Scott exhaust system.

I never sorted the kick down as never managed to locate the linkages from a SD1 3500 SE. Dont know if this was ever sorted?

Mines a 350i automatic and was built like it as a special order Ive been told.
It drives fine and has kickdown and everything as it should. There were also a couple of left hand drive 450s which have been mentioned before on here and I have seen a 2.8 v6 auto too.

My 2.8 was factory built with an autobox. Seen a few others too. Coverted my car to a 5 speed manual last year. I have done an article about the conversion and sent it off to Mike for the wedgepages.
