Over a period of time power steering fluid has been disapearing changed pipes but no signs of a leak ,fluid still going half a cup full about every 200 mls,all pipes and joints dry nothing on garage floor no odd noises steering ok. Is somebody going to tell me there all like that?
If it's leaking from the pump pulley driveshaft area while its going round then it might hit the pulley and be sprayed away without leaving much of a trace?
Try sticking some blotting paper to the pulley - it might pick up any leaking fluid after a time.
It's not leaking from the rack itself into the rubber boot is it ?
Mine does this - can't be bothered to fix it at the moment, just keep it topped up and now and again undo the jubilee clip on the boot and drain some out to stop the boot splitting.
IIRC mine weeps from the pinion oil seal. Every few weeks the reservoir wil be low, yet the stray oil around the chassis would seem not to account for the amount missing.
