Ok, I was following a car today and it had a long/thin piece of rubber/plastic on the back of the car that brushes the floor as the car is moving. Years ago I use to see this on loads of cars and always wondered what it was for?

(By the way the wedge is running great at the moment and loving every minute )

It's there so taxi drivers don't have to stop their cars and kneel in the direction of Mekkah every six hours.

It's to conduct the static back to the ground, no proof that it actually works though.

There was a belief that it stopped travel sickness by conducting the static electricity back to ground. Never tried them though.

Probably explains why the guy driving it looked about 80. It was on a 52 plate car as well!

it was probally a honda and he would have been wearing a flat cap and leather driving gloves!
